One summer morning the rising sun’s
rays knocked on the window of a small house. The small house was amazing - a
cocoon of white silk yarns. The house quietly swung on the tree branch in the
kindergarten yard. The warm rays of light knocked louder and louder on the cocoon’s
translucent window. The wind blew and opened the door of the house. The sun
with a warm hand stroked butterfly’s cheek and lovingly said: “Wake up! It‘s
time for a flight! A wonderful trip is waiting for you.”
Butterfly opened his eyes, stood on
his small legs, flapped with his wings and flew through the open door. He higher
and higher, further and further, each flap bolder than the last. As the butterfly flew for the first time, his
small heart trembled and his glowing rainbow coloured wings flickered in the
sun.
The butterfly was attracted by the blooming
flowers and the noise of the playing children. One girl saw the butterfly
flying from flower to flower and loudly announced, “Children, look! What a
beautiful butterfly! It looks like a rainbow!” Her surprised teacher
accompanied her when viewing this miracle of life. She announced, “Let’s call
him Vaivoriukas.”
Together with the butterfly called
Vaivoriukas, the children gently flapped their hands to the sky wishing a good
trip for Vaivoriukas!
